Zinc’s importance as an essential nutrient has been recognized for many years. Zinc is critical to maintaining appetite, reproductive efficiency, skin and skeletal health, the immune response and a host of other functions as a cofactor for over 200 enzymes. Using a trace mineralized zinc salt for maintaining the performance, health and vitality of livestock and poultry. Zinc is absorbed in the small intestine. Zn may be transported by albumin in plasma to the liver. According to the “Journal of Nutrition,” citric acid may increase zinc absorption by acting as a zinc-binding ligand.
