For better Calcium Metabolism

The requirement of calcium in modern day poultry is enormous. A major portion of dietary calcium is used in bone formation in chicks, growers and broilers and for eggshell formation in layers. Laying poultry requires more calcium because of calcium carbonate content of eggshell. It is also well documented that as age advances the ability to absorb dietary calcium decreases.
The control of calcium and phosphorus metabolism in the bird is a complex phenomenon involving vitamin D3, Parathormone from the parathyroid gland and calcitonin from the C cells of the thyroid glands.
In recent years it has been observed that inspite of meeting the dietary requirements of calcium in right proportions incidences of perosis, lag weakness, cage layer fatique and thin shelled eggs are on the increase. This could probably be due to the fact that adequate free phosphorus might not be made available in the system for better utilization of calcium.
It is proved that about 80% of body phosphorus is deposited in the skeletal system of the birds. The rest is widely distributed throughout the body and is primarily involved in transfer of biological energy particularly through adenosine triphosphate. Phosphorus excrcises an important function in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats and salts, also play a very important part in maintaining body pH.
Perosis, cage layer fatigue, lag weakness and thin shelled eggs also occur due to deficiency of choline, manganese, zinc, vitamin B12, folic acid, pyridoxine and pantothenic acid.

The concept of using enzymes in poultry & Aqua feed to bring about highest utilization of nutrients trapped in the feed ingredients. Incorporating Maxizyme SSF is produced by solid-state fermentation (SSF) that allows flexibility in feed formulation through the inclusion of by-products and alternative raw materials or by reducing the nutrient density in the diet.
Solid state fermentation involves the careful selection of a specific strain of naturally occurring fungus that expresses the required enzyme profile and activities for a given substrate. The enzymes are produced by using “Koji” method under strict aseptic condition. During production time, the fungus grows rapidly and secretes enzymes to break down the substrate (Solid Media) to release nutrients and then dried & standardized for enzyme activities, passed through quality control to produce the finished product, Maxizyme SSF.


Strength : Maxizyme SSF is produced by a carefully selected strain, which expresses over multi enzyme activities when grown on wheat bran. In feed, the enzymes in the complex work synergistically to break down the different substrates. 1. On the top addition : Maxizyme SSF should be used on the top of diets when calculated protein, energy, phosphorus and calcium levels of a diet are thought to be limiting or marginal in terms of the target species requirements. In this case, the addition of Maxizyme SSF on the top will improve digestion and the release of nutrients from the diet and will be expressed through improved animal performance e.g. weight gain, FCR & feed : egg production.
2. Diet reformulation : This approach to the use of Maxizyme SSF takes advantage of the additional protein, amino acids, energy and phosphorus released to enable the feed formulator to reduce total diet cost but still maintain animal performance. Incorporating specific enzymes enables the nutritionist to optimize the cost & performance of poultry and aqua. Maxigrain NSP+ is blend of the most relevant digestive enzymes to serve this purpose.
Availability of Phosphorous: The phosphorous present in cereal feed is mostly entrapped in phytate residues. The chicken digestive juices lack the enzyme phytase that necessary to liberate the phosphorous for absorption by the gut wall. Hence Dicalcium phosphate (DCP) or Monocalcium phosphate (MCP) is added to fulfill the phosphorous requirement of the chicken. Addition of phytase enzyme in a measured quantity can considerably bring down incorporation levels of external phosphorous sources.
Breaking down NSPs: Most of the vegetable feed stuffs like maize, soyameal, wheat, rice polish, sunflower cake, ground nut cake, rapeseed meal, DDGS, sesame meal, jowar, bajra etc. Inherently contain certain level of cell wall carbohydrate residues which are known as nonstarch poly-saccharides (NSPs) etc. These NSPs include celluloses, hemicelluloses (arabinoxylans) glucans, pectins, galactosides etc. These soluble NSPs have a strong antinutritional effect by way of increasing the viscocity of the digesta in the chicken intestine. Increased visocity leads to inadequate aborption of nutritients. Impaired peristaltic progress of chyme through the intestine causing flatulence and bacterial overgrowth. This is evidenced by loose or sticky dropping causing serious hygiene problems. These problems can be solved by incorporation of measured quantities of NSP digesting enzymes like cellulase (i.e. Carboxy methyl cellulase and B glucanase), hemicellulases (i.e. Xylanase), and pectinases in the poultry & aqua rations.

Natural water soluble stable vitamin C

Pol-C is biologically available & stable water soluble vitamin C required to be given in regular diet. Normally vitamin C is available to the chicken through the endogenous biosynthesis and it is absorb in intestine & excrete through kidney. Addition of supplemental vitamin C in the diet is known to reduce negative effects of stress like heat stress, over-crowding and high production. Research has proved that supplementing vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) 150 ppm is highly beneficial in bird, exposed to heat stress and other stress conditions.

Pol-C contents plant extract rich in vitamin C from Amala, Mango, Papaya, Luceme, Citrus Acid, Citrus Aurantium, Capsicum Anrum, Black Lead, Mohonia Repens, Spurge Olive, Cone Flower and Rubus Spp.
